How do I call in sick?
Cancelling a job on the platform is an easy process. If you do need to cancel an assignment, simply follow the steps below:
1. Log in to your HelloSubs platform.
2. Go to "My Dashboard" and select the job you'd like to cancel from your Schedule.
3. When you click on the job, a calendar will appear on the right-hand side of the screen, like the example shown below.
4. Click on the day you need to cancel, record your cancellation reason, and hit "Confirm Cancel Request," as seen below.
Can I cancel a job the morning of?
The short answer is yes, you can. Using the steps above, you are able to cancel a job the morning of. That being said, morning-of cancellations are subject to the issuance of a strike; three strikes result in contract termination (
review our code of conduct). Our schools and their students greatly rely on their substitute teachers. The closer to the start time that you call out, the less likely the school will receive coverage for that day. If you are feeling unwell, we encourage you to cancel with as much notice as possible.
Do I need to call the school or HelloSubs if I cancel morning of?
You do not need to call the school or HelloSubs. However, if you're a long-term sub at a school, and you'd like to reach out to your school admin and let them know, we encourage you to do so as well. Please be sure to cancel your job on the platform first though, so that way the job opens up to the sub pool as soon as possible.
